Summer booking is underway at last!
We are now finished scheduling the VIP Early Bird reservations
and the regular process is back in operation.
A big thanks to all of you who have renewed your memberships
and are already off and rolling toward another great summer.

UPDATED 1/20/2026.

The VIP Early Bird period is over for this year, but we expect to do things about the same way next year. We will ask everyone to renew their memberships in December and no later than the first week of January. Those who do so will be afforded special consideration in the order received, first-come, first-served. The earlier you renew, the higher up the list you will likely be and the sooner you will be able to make your early reservation. There is no charge for a membership.

Our procedure is to begin with those long-time regular guests who routinely book large blocks of 4 or more nights in multiple cabins every year, and then proceed within a few days to schedule the shorter-term stays. In case you might be a bit confused, here's the way it works:

While you can make a reservation for the off-season (Jan-Apr) at any time, the busy summer season (May-Sep) is in much higher demand. So, we have a process we have been using for many years that streamlines it and, we feel, makes it fair for everyone.

What we call the "Early Bird" period is that week or so in mid-January when we extend an opportunity for our friends and long-standing and most loyal guests to beat the crowd and schedule their vacations with us for the upcoming summer season.

The first ones (Tier 1) are those of you who have been coming year after year, for many years, and routinely book large blocs -- 4 or more consecutive nights in two or three cabins. We let those go first, not only as a courtesy to reward them for their loyalty, but also because fitting large blocs onto the calendar is much easier to do early on, before those calendars fill up with weekenders.

We generally try to notify you early birds by email when it's your time, so please check your inbox frequently for notices. Since we cannot guarantee you will see that email, however, it is important that you keep an eye right here on this webpage for regular updates over the next two or three weeks.

NOTE: We do set aside a few slots for our own private family events. So, if you notice some dates blocked out on day one, that's why.

So, if you are contemplating staying with us again this year, please email us or use the Contact Us form to update your membership. That way we have your most up-to-date information on file. Those who stay in contact with us by email have a better chance of being near the front of the line, as we do take your degree of interest into consideration.

Our Challenges

A big thank you to everyone for helping us fulfill our mission to partner with the wildlife and keep things peaceful and quiet down here on the ranch. Thanks to all of you, 2025 was another banner year for us. No doubt, the great (hot and dry!) summertime weather was helpful as well. And things went well with very few hitches. Now it's time to blast into 2026!

We especially want to express our gratitute to those of you whose families have been coming here for decades, in some cases, generations! We hope we can keep it up for a long time to come. It is, however, becoming a growing challenge. As you know, Point Creek Haven is a family affair which has been run by one successive generation after another since the 1980's. We have reached a point, however, where it is becoming increasingly difficult for the older Walkers to take care of the cottage rental operation. Not surprisingly, there are more and more of those inevitable age-related health issues that keep cropping up. And, unfortunately, we do not yet have a crop of younger generation Walkers who are in position to take things over. That puts us in an obvious quandry.

The off-season is not a big problem as the reservations are relatively few and there is little competition for available dates. The summer is a different matter, however. Sandwiching dozens of long-time regular guests onto a crowded summer calendar so that everyone gets something they like is not an easy task. And then, of course, there are the rising costs and the day-to-day maintenance. It is becoming a challenge too monumental for the older Walkers to handle.

So, once again, as we did last summer, we hope to keep things trimmed back to a less hectic and more manageable schedule for the upcoming summer. That entails encouraging longer stays and putting less emphasis on weekend rentals. That is why we have geared our rates and reservation schedule accordingly, to give special consideration to those long-time friends and repeat vacationers who book multiple cottages for four or more consecutive nights, and continue to do so year after year.

So, again, a big Texas thanks to all of you for sticking with us all these years and being great guests and wonderful friends. We can't wait to see you again this year.
